Ida Red is a large, impressive airplane in the air and on the ground. She always attracts a large crowd around her even when there are larger 2 and 4 engined aircraft on the ramp with her. Many people recognize her as the type of aircraft that former President Bush flew. Everyone is fascinated when her wings are folded. We will usually fold the wings and spread them again when we taxi back in from flying, assuming there is enough time to fit this in the show. We will also draw a winner from time to time to get up in the cockpit and demonstrate the wing fold to the crowd by using the hydraulic hand pump. This way folks can get up close and see how it works and not have to worry about a running engine. The person who gets the chance to sit in the cockpit and fold and spread the wings is usually quite excited about the whole prospect, but by the time they are done pumping the hydraulic handle, some are probably asking themselves what, if anything, they have won. It's all in good fun though and people love it.

If we are invited to your show, we will do everything we can to help make your show a success. We usually take the door off the side so people can easily look inside the plane. We enjoy showing off our airplane and we try to have crew members by her when the ramp is open to the public to answer questions and teach history.

Ida Red is a hit and attracts a crowd wherever she goes. She can be a big attraction on your air show ramp for a fraction of the cost of the larger WW II bombers.
